The Regatta is under the management of Wake Lightning Fleet 481
of the Carolina Sailing Club in the Southeastern Lightning District. Races will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing, the
prescriptions of the U.S. Sailing Association, the ILCA rules, except as any of
these are modified by the Sailing Instructions, and by the Sailing
Instructions. Sailing Instructions will
be available at Registration.
Scoring will
be as described in Appendix A of The
Racing Rules of Sailing using the Low Point System. Also, Fierce Competitor cups will be awarded
according to a hull number handicapping system, which favors older boats.
Description posted at the Regatta. Borderline/Frigid
Digit Double Header trophies are awarded for the best combined results from
the two regattas. Double Header
trophies will be based on the results of the same boat, rather than
requiring that the same skipper race in both regattas to be eligible for the
Double Header trophies. Double Header
trophies will be provided by the Wake Lightning Fleet of the Carolina Sailing
Club.
Location: Regatta is at Henderson Point on Kerr Lake,
near Henderson, NC. Please see directions

Le Petite Ville, Townsville, next to the old school:
call Ralph Pegram 252-492-2292. This
place has 8 “suites” that can sleep up to 6 people or more, but the water
pressure for showering has been low and its main clientele has been the
bass-boater crowd. Cheap, though.
Camping: FLASH! : PRESBYTERIAN POINT IS
CLOSED. NO CAMPING THERE. CALL SUSIE AT
STEELE CREEK MARINA: 252 492 5923. This
is the only camping area available this year.
Directions to Henderson Point, Kerr Lake: Follow
I-85 to Henderson, NC. Leave I-85 at
Exit 214 (Route 39). Follow Route 39 North
through Townsville (if you are coming from the north, turn right onto Rt 39 at
the exit; If you are coming from the
south, turn left onto Rt 39 at the exit).
Townsville is about 12 miles from Exit 214. After you go through Townsville, follow signs to Henderson Point,
which is about 5 miles past Townsville.
As you enter the State Park area at Henderson Point, look for the
Ranger’s residence on your left. Turn
left onto the gated road just past the Ranger’s house. This is the short road to the ramp area for
Henderson Point. WE WILL ALSO HAVE
LIGHTNING SIGNS AT KEY TURNS ONCE YOU LEAVE TOWNSVILLE.
