Thanks to the six boats that made it to Charleston. Saturday was a rain out with serious lightning and thunderstorms, which we all luckily viewed from under shelter. One bolt seemed to hit about 100 yards from the club flagpole.
We had three races on Sunday morning/afternoon and were finished sailing by 2:30 PM. The race committee under the command of Harvey McCormick was beyond reproach. As fleets finished and were back in the starting area he restarted them and did not wait until all fleets had finished before restarting. The course for us was three legs w-l with finish in the vicinity of the windward mark and the start was just downwind of the leeward mark. Next year, if we sail at Charleston, I will suggest to Harvey that he make use of a gate instead of a leeward mark since there was a lot of mixed traffic during some leeward mark roundings. 5 legged courses would have been nice but would not have allowed three races to be sailed.

I echo Bill's regatta report. The RC work was excellent and Sunday's racing was as good as it gets. Thanks to all who made it a great regatta. Congrats to Terry Tyner and crew who sailed a great regatta. It was great to see Lauren and Randy all the way down from Virginia.
