Notice of Race
Rules:
The Regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (2001-2004) and the prescriptions of US SAILING and the International Lightning Class Association (ILCA) except as any of these are altered by the sailing instructions that shall be available at registration).
All boats shall be equipped with proper safety equipment including PFDs, throwable, paddle, bucket, anchor & 50' line
Schedule of Events:
Friday, October 4
1:00 p.m. Club facilities open. Practice if you would like.
7:00-9:00 p.m. Hamburger Cookout at Club for early arrivals.
Saturday, October 5
10:30-11:00 a.m. Registration (Clubhouse) Sailing Instructions available.
11:00 a.m. Competitors Meeting (Clubhouse)
12:00 p.m. Warning Signal Race 1 followed by subsequent races
06:00 p.m. Hors d oeuvres and Beverages
07:00 p.m. Pork Tenderloin Dinner (Chicken available on request in advance)
Sunday, October 6
10:00 a.m. Warning signal, next race followed by subsequent races
Awards Ceremony asap after final race
Bagels, doughnuts, bananas, coffee and juice will be available
each morning
Registration and Fees: Registration fee $75.00 (includes SELD fee of $6). If outside of the SELD, the fee will be $69.00. Registration includes 3 Pork Tenderloin dinners (or chicken if that is your preference) and Continental Breakfast each morning. Extra dinners are $10.00 each. Dinners for children 6- 10 years are $5.00. Five and under are free.

Racing Area: Lake Lanier in front of LLSC
Scoring: The Low Point scoring System, Appendix A of the racing rules will be used.
Alternative Penalties: The 720 Turns penalty as modified by Lightning Class rules will apply.
Awards: Trophies will be awarded to the top four skippers and crew.

From the North: Take I-85 south to Hwy 53 Exit 129 at Braselton-Winder. Take a right. Go West to Oakwood on Hwy 53 - 10.8 miles. Continue on Hwy 53 under I-985 for another 2.4 miles. The road will end. Take a left on to McEver Road going south for 4.3 miles. Take a right at the light on to Jim Crow Road (Chevron on corner.)
From the South: Take I-85 north from I-285 for approximately 20 miles. Bear left on to Exit 113 which will be I-985 to Gainesville. Go 8.0 miles to Exit # 8 Friendship Road (to end of ramp 8.3 miles). At the exit light, take a left going west over I-985 on Friendship. The next turn will be at the 4th traffic light at McEver Road which will be a total of 1.4 miles. (Note: West Marine will be on your right about .5 mile after you turn on Friendship in case you need anything). At the light at McEver (note Texaco on corner), take a right going north. Next light will be 1.8 miles - Gaines Ferry Road. Go straight on McEver to 2nd light 2.3 miles. Go straight to 3rd light .7 mile. Take a left on to Jim Crow Road.
(Special Note: The DOT will
have possible lane closures on I-85 from Exit 109 Old Peachtree until you bear off at Exit
113 on to I-985. Please expect possible
delays. Road capacity may be cut in half from
9:00 p.m. on Friday throughout the weekend, weather permitting)
These directions apply to both: Go west on Jim Crow for 2.4 miles. You will see a white fence at the club. Make a left. Continue straight through the stop sign, up the hill and down to the clubhouse. Camping area is on dirt road to the right of the clubhouse.

Camping: Numbered campsites are available on the club grounds down a short dirt road to the right of the clubhouse. Most sites have a picnic table and a post to hang your lantern. There are only 3 pits where open fires are allowed. The bathhouse is located near the dinghy launch ramp. Sorry, no pets (club rules)
